The award is based on results from the Leapfrog Hospital Quality and Safety Survey. Data is collected from hospitals on their progress toward implementing practices in CPOE, ICU Physician Staffing, Evidence-Based Hospital Referral and a Leapfrog Safe Practices Score evaluating 27 other National Quality Forum-endorsed Safe Practices. 41 adult facilities and 8 children’s facilities received the honor.

Allina Hospitals & Clinics recieves Davies Award

Forward Advantage would like to congratulate Allina Hospitals & Clinics in Minneapolis, MN for receiving the 2007 HiMSS Davies Award. The Davies Award recognizes excellence in the implementation of the electronic health record. With Allina’s "One patient. One record," vision, the comprehensive system is expected to be available at all of their clinics and hospitals by 2008.

Originally created by CPRI-HOST in 1994, the HiMSS Davies Award program is named in honor of Dr. Nicholas E. Davies, a practicing physician who believed that the computer-based patient record was needed to improve patient care.
